Welcome to the Wyoming Wing Inspector General Web Site. I am Major Harold Kenneth Johnston II, (Ken). I have been Wing IG since 2008. I was previously a Group II, when they still have IG at Group, for the Colorado Wing. I am an attorney licensed in Colorado and Texas. I had a trial practice for 30 years in Colorado and also traveled across the US litigating civil matters on behalf of various clients. I attended NLOC, National Legal Officers College July of 2007.
I have served as a legal officer for Jeffco Senior Squadron, and was the Group II’s IG in the Colorado Wing. I am a current a CD, “O” Ride and AFROTC, Mountain Mission pilot as well as a Check Pilot for the WY Wing. I have a Masters rating as a Legal Officer.
The Inspector General (IG) has a duty to protect the organization and it's members from harassment or unfair practices due to race creed or religion. The IG also investigates allegations of fraud and abuse. The IG works closely with the Wing Legal Officer on all investigations to assure that they are (1) legal and (2) fall within the guidelines of CAP. Although I will always attempt to keep your conversations or information in any investigation confidential, you must be aware that the information may be disclosed via legal proceedings such as subpoenas or other court ordered discovery.
The IG has a duty to perform subordinate unit inspection (SUI) to insure safety and regulatory compliance. Inspections will be performed on a 36 month rotating schedule and are posted on the WYWG web site under Inspector General.
Remember that if you feel that you need to speak with me or someone in the IG office, NO ONE can deny you that right. If you feel that there might be a problem, and you would like to discuss it with me, please contact me. Remember that except as provided by law, all conversations and information provided are confidential. See filing a complaint also on this web site.
You may call me at either of the following numbers but remember that you may have to leave a message so that I may be able to return the call. In both cases the phone may ring more than 6 times before my messaging service will pick up. Thanks. 303-589-0637 (cell) 307-322-8169 (home)
